Winter Travel Capsule Wardrobe
So as you know from my notes on transition, I'm here in Copenhagen! And feeling so much better after a real meal, a crossfit workout and 16 hours of sleep last night. Jet lag has truly been a B these last few days. I'm spending the next few days getting into a bit of routine. The holiday vibes in Copenhagen are comin' in strong. It's crisp outside, the air smells like sweet pancakes and there are sparkle lights everywhere. Today, I’m thrilled to be sharing my winter travel capsule wardrobe with you. This one was a toughy because I had very minimal space—a carry-on suitcase and a 40L backpack—to fit bulky winter clothes in. With the added volume of coats, I had to really cut down on other things, which honestly, I won’t even end up missing.
I’m absolutely thrilled with my winter travel capsule and am excited because it’s the smallest capsule I’ve ever done. It’s 24 pieces in total: 15 clothing items, 5 shoes, 4 accessories. BOOM. I think it is the PERFECT size. Really proud of myself because I truly feel like I covered all the bases from cozy layering pieces and winter wear to holiday and new years outfits while still having enough casual wear.I took a lot of the classic pieces from my fall capsule wardrobe like this blazer and my favorite black skinny jeans and transitioned them into my winter capsule. Instead of predominately blacks and greys that made up my fall capsule, I shook things up a little this season while still keeping things true to my style. I introduced some dark blues, as my main complementary color to black (see this knit sweater, scarf and ankle booties!) I also have some fun holiday clothes that I’m excited about, which I’ve already taken for a whirl. The red velvet skater dress paired with fleece-lined tights, black boots and the soft black blazer is utter perfection for a holiday party. I also love the sequin top with black skinny jeans, this black blazer and the dark blue ankle booties—can you say new years outfit!? This capsule does not include workout gear, lounge wear or jewelry. Although I can assure you that I kept those very minimal as well. Also, JUST FYI, packing cubes = total game changer. I got this awesome three-pack of cubes in the cute white and lime green color. Definitely planning on getting a few more of these; they were truly the only way I could fit everything. Anyways, peep my winter travel capsule items below!
Please know that I do my best to find the exact items in my capsule but with older pieces that I use in my capsule I try my best to find something similar that is currently available. Many of the items in my capsule I already owned from prior seasons. xo!
